Mescalito Del Viento -
Idaho Kiger Gem x Marialva DC
Around 10 years ago, my ridiculous ISO ad would have read something like this:
"Looking for a young unbroke gelding that will stay under 16H with Iberian breeding (Andalusian or Lusitano), proven upper level dressage breeding, but bred and growing up on a ranch with traditional horsemanship upbringing. Good feet, hardy. Must be sensitive but easy going and kind. Can't be gray or bay, ideally a fun color."
I don't think Kaitlin Knox knew she was breeding my ‘one-day-not-really-going-to-happen’ dream horse, but somehow, here he is.

Promesa Del Viento - Sonrisa RB x Bayo Gaucho
Purchasing long yearling Promesa (Sonrisa x Gaucho) from Kaitlyn Knox at Winterwind Kigers has been a dream come true. It has been a wholly enjoyable and great learning experience for me handling and working with my trainer to bring a horse along from a young age. Promesa is sensitive, intelligent and calm. She had 30 days of groundwork training last Spring and is now back for a light start under saddle.
Our trainer Kristine says, “I love how even minded and reasonable she is, and of course she's very pretty to look at too!” My goal is to work on Western Dressage and trails with Promesa but I’m open to trying other things too. I just really am looking forward to having a solid partner to chase wildflowers and beauty in our mountains with and to continue to better my skills with.
Kaitlyn of Winterwind has been communicative, supportive and a great resource along our journey. I have so enjoyed talking horses with her from afar and sharing photos and experiences. I cannot recommend Winterwind enough. I just wish they weren’t on the other side of North America from me! Kaitlyn is a pro at helping with shipping horses to their new homes and setting her babies up for success.

Amansador Del Viento -
Jessie Number Two x Patron Plateado RB
My dear husband, Mark, purchased Amansador del Viento for me for our 25th Anniversary. Needless to say, this was way better than diamonds! I have wanted a Kiger Mustang since I was a little girl and discovered what Kigers were when Breyer released Mesteno, the stallion from the "original" herd of 27 found in 1977. He was my favorite model! So, when I told Mark I wanted to start a small, but quality, breeding program for Kigers here in Michigan, he decided to get me the best colt he could find. Amansador is that colt and he surpasses all expectations!
Kaitlin was amazing to work with. Communication was clear and professional. There were zero issues with arranging transport and importation from Canada into the USA. Kaitlin got Amansador used to the trailer ahead of time and he traveled beautifully. Amansador arrived in Michigan happy, healthy, curious, and respectful. I would not hesitate to get another foal from Kaitlin!
